Story Ideas

Looking into the Future

Will cell-phones get so small we can implant them in our ears?

Will we all carry a wrist-watch which also acts as a video phone and a link to a large central computer?

Will three-dimensional holographic entertainment become common?

Will we all have a room in our houses dedicated to a huge entertainment system?

Will we all go to large entertainment centres where we will sit in small booths while our brains are wired up to a computer to entertain us?

Will we all stay at home to go to school or  work: communicating with our colleagues and friends via a computer?

Will we be able to wire up a computer to act as an extra memory bank that we can download knowledge and skills into?

Will we be able to communicate with computers by voice or by thought?

When we travel through space, how will we cope with the delays in communication when it takes minutes or even hours for a message from us to reach our friends elsewhere in the solar system?

How will we use improvements in telecommunications to get rid of poverty around the world?
